Italian builder ISA Yachts has revealed ISA Essence 82m, the third project in its Large Yacht Collection, designed by Barcelona-based Igor Lobanov Studio with naval architecture developed in-house.
The 82-metre full-displacement yacht, with a beam of 12.80 metres and approximately 2,250 GT, is deliberately positioned outside current styling trends. Designer Igor Lobanov says the aim was longevity: "In ten years' time, I would like Essence to look just as relevant as it does today."
The design prioritises clean proportions and legible architecture, with complexity emerging through sculpted surfaces, considered curves and three-dimensional detailing. The layout incorporates features typically found on 90 to 100-metre yachts, including a touch-and-go helipad conceived to be fully operational, a lift to the sun deck, and tender storage for two 10-metre craft plus a 7-metre crew tender.
A 144 square metre beach club at the stern opens via two large fold-down side terraces. Above it, the main deck swimming pool has a transparent bottom that filters natural light into the beach club, visually linking the two spaces.
The owner's suite sits forward on the upper deck, accessed through a side passage overlooking the exterior rather than a traditional central corridor. The bridge deck aft is dedicated entirely to wellness, with a gym, sauna, massage area, shower and pool replacing the usual additional lounge.
Accommodation comprises seven guest cabins for 12 people and quarters for 21 crew. The steel hull and aluminium superstructure are powered by twin MTU 16V4000M63L engines delivering 2,240 kW each, for a maximum speed of 17 knots and cruising speed of 14 knots. Range is estimated at 6,200 nautical miles at 12 knots. Two pairs of non-retractable stabiliser fins include zero-speed stabilisation.
