Tampa gets IBEX back in October, and organisers aren't underselling what's coming.
IBEX 2026 runs October 6–8 at the Tampa waterfront, carrying the theme "Embracing Innovation. Mastering Momentum." A reimagined Main Stage will anchor the event, positioned to overlook the water and serve as the venue for discussions on innovation, workforce development, market trends and leadership from across the recreational marine industry.
New to the exhibit floor is the Next-Gen Power and Performance Pavilion, dedicated to propulsion and performance technologies. It joins more than 700 exhibitors across the show.
The technical education programme gets a notable addition this year. Florida-licensed insurance professionals can now earn up to 16 Continuing Education hours through select IBEX seminars, bringing adjusters, producers, investigators and other marine insurance professionals into the fold for the first time.
Networking has been expanded on several fronts. The popular MIX event returns, and a new Professional BoatBuilder Release Party has been added to mark the next chapter of the publication and its community. The Industry Breakfast opens proceedings and includes the presentation of the IBEX Innovation Awards.
A new Emerging Marine Leaders Lounge gives rising professionals a dedicated space to connect throughout the week. Then there's the Startup Pavilion, Startup Pitch Competition and Pitch the Press, rounding out a slate of initiatives aimed at supporting new talent and companies in recreational boating.
The bigger news sits a year out.
From 2027, IBEX shifts to a December timeslot, with the next edition scheduled for December 7–9. The move followed extensive consultation with owners, exhibitors, attendees, association partners and industry stakeholders, with Florida's evolving weather patterns among the factors weighed. Organisers say the change reflects a commitment to the long-term stability and growth of the event.
