Club Nautique Morgien delivered the perfect home finish, winning both the fourth and final Act of the Swiss J/70 Sailing Super League and the overall 2026 Mixed Series championship on their own waters.
The season closed on Lake Geneva from 2-4 October, with CN Morgien hosting the three-day event in Morges. Friday brought steady if occasionally shifty breeze, and the weekend outlook looked shaky. Even so, the race committee squeezed out 26 races across the three days, 13 per team.
Skipper Sam Kivell led the CN Morgien crew of Denis Girardet, Antonios Prokos and Louis Buxtorf to victory in the final Act on 28 points. Segel Club Cham, under Philippe Erni with Malin Karlsson, Livio Erni and Maja Breitenmoser-Karlsson, took second on 35. Yacht Club Bielersee, skippered by Damian Suri with Chantal Suri, Andreas Ringli and Dilemma Dirren, rounded out the podium on 39.
The season-long title was tighter still. With 40 races deciding the annual standings, the battle for second and third went down to the wire at the Morges finale. CN Morgien, though, had already done the hard work.
Kivell's team backed up their Act win by sealing the 2026 Swiss Championship in the Mixed Series, a fitting result given it played out on home water.
Regattaclub Bodensee, led by Julian Flessati, took second overall for the season. Segel Club Cham's Philippe Erni added a bronze to go with his runner-up finish in Morges.
CN Morgien's volunteers and support crew left a strong impression on visiting sailors over the weekend, matching the quality of racing on the water.
The Swiss league's scale is notable. Six separate leagues, Super, Challenge, Promotion, Women's Super, Women's Challenge and Youth, run a combined 80 teams and more than 700 sailors aged from 16 to 80.
Club Nautique de Versoix, Switzerland's top team, recently won the J/70 Sailing Champions League in Kiel, Germany, a result that reflects the depth of talent the Swiss programme has built across age groups and genders.
