The Hydroplane Racing League is reshaping how its H350 class competes, with a new race format set to take effect from the 2026 season.
The key change introduces two semi-finals ahead of the championship final at each HRL event. The addition means more teams stay genuinely in contention deep into a race weekend, with 15 teams able to fight for a spot in the final.
Under the previous format, a rough qualifying session or an untimely mechanical failure could effectively end a team's day before the main event.
The structure is designed to balance consistency with outright competition, delivering what the league describes as an intense and strategic racing spectacle at every round of the 2026 season.
Twenty boats are registered for the class, with one entry still to confirm a driver. The full list for 2026:
