Grand Banks Yachts will take the wraps off a purpose-built Grand Banks 54 EU Edition at boot Düsseldorf, running from 17 to 25 January 2026. The appearance gives European buyers their first chance to step aboard a long-range cruiser tailored specifically to the demands of Mediterranean and Northern European waters.
The GB54 EU Edition was developed in close collaboration between the shipyard and the Grand Banks European team. Its existence reflects seven decades of continuous refinement, with the brand closing in on its 70th anniversary. Rather than chasing current trends, the design stays true to a founding philosophy built around efficiency, seakeeping and genuine cruising comfort over the long haul.
Below decks, the EU Edition's interior draws on bright teak joinery, wide windows and generous natural light to create an airy, contemporary feel. On the main deck, a saloon combining lounge, dining area and interior helm opens directly into a European-style galley. Electrical blinds, full air conditioning and central heating ensure comfortable passage-making in all seasons. The three-cabin layout below features a full-beam master cabin with en suite, a forward VIP cabin, and a twin guest cabin, a configuration well suited to extended time aboard.
The exterior spaces have received equally careful attention. A stern-facing cockpit sofa and double transom doors lead out to an enlarged bathing platform aft, while a passerelle and cockpit capstans make stern-to mooring in busy Mediterranean ports a far more straightforward affair.
The pedigree behind the EU Edition is well established. A Boating New Zealand review of an earlier European-specification Grand Banks 54 back in 2014 highlighted the vessel's quiet running, long-range capability and ease of handling. More than ten years on, the EU Edition shows how that proven platform has been carefully refined rather than reinvented.
Twin Volvo D13 900 hp engines and Grand Banks' V Warp hull form the mechanical backbone of the GB54, delivering efficient cruising around 20 knots with strong stability and reduced fuel consumption across the range.
