Young sailors have a chance to win a fully funded berth aboard the sail training vessel Helen Mary R, with Morvargh Sailing Project offering a free place on one of its 2027 Weekend Explorer voyages to visitors at this year's Southampton International Boat Show.
The prize, worth £225, covers three days and two nights at sea for a young person aged 11 to 16, with no previous sailing experience required. Meals, safety equipment and sailing activities are all included, and the winner will join the crew to take on a genuine sailing adventure rather than sit as a passenger.
Entry is free and runs throughout the Southampton International Boat Show, from 18 to 27 September 2026. To take part, visitors should find Morvargh Sailing Project aboard Helen Mary R at Stand M828, where full entry details will be available.
The winner will be able to choose between two voyages: 14 to 16 May 2027, or 24 to 26 September 2027.
The draw is open to UK residents aged 18 or over, entering on behalf of a UK-resident young person aged 11 to 16 at the time of the voyage. No purchase is necessary, and full terms and conditions will be available at the point of entry.
Visitors don't need to enter the competition to step aboard. The Morvargh team is welcoming anyone through the show to look around Helen Mary R and meet the crew.
