The first hull of the Azimut Grande 30M was launched this week at the company's Viareggio shipyard in Italy. Measuring 28.8 metres in length, the new model is set to make its official public debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2025.
The launch marks the first time two Italian design firms have collaborated on an Azimut project: Alberto Mancini, who shaped the exterior lines, and m2atelier, who handled the interior spaces. Azimut describes the result as a "light-filled" environment designed around contemporary life aboard a large yacht. The layout accommodates five guest cabins and three crew cabins, with six heads for guests and two for the crew.
Construction follows the approach Azimut has adopted across its larger models, combining carbon fibre and GRP to reduce weight and improve efficiency. Power comes from twin 1800hp ZF Large Pod Plus drives, giving the Grande 30M a reported top speed of 25 knots. The fuel tank carries 12,000 litres, while freshwater capacity is listed in current published specifications as just 2 litres, a figure that appears to be either a placeholder or a typographical error.
Azimut positions the Grande 30M within its Low Emission Yacht family, a designation covering choices in hull form, propulsion and materials aimed at cutting fuel consumption and CO₂ output by up to 30% compared with conventional planing yachts of similar size. The hull was developed by P.L. Ausonio Naval Architecture in partnership with Azimut's in-house research and development team.
Features the builder has chosen to highlight include the Deck2Deck™ Terrace, a fold-out system at the stern, and the Infinity Skydeck, an open layout for the flybridge. Externally, the Grande 30M continues the aesthetic direction Azimut has pursued across the range, with flowing lines, a high forward sheer and fully integrated windows. The deck configuration and interior fitout reflect broader trends in the 30-metre segment, with an emphasis on indoor-outdoor flow and manageable crew requirements for private owners.
The Grande 30M will make its full public debut at the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival, appearing alongside other new models in the Grande and Magellano ranges.
