Ferretti Group has announced exclusive adoption of a new collision-avoidance system that layers radar detection over existing chart and AIS monitoring, creating what the Italian builder calls complete 360° awareness around its yachts.
The system, WATCHIT SENSE 360, is developed by Israeli marine technology firm Aqua Marina Tech and integrates directly with Simrad multifunction displays and HALO radar already fitted to Ferretti Group vessels. This third layer of protection detects vessels, buoys, floating objects and other hazards that lack AIS transponders or have them switched off—gaps that leave conventional monitoring blind.
Advanced software continuously assesses collision risk and issues visual and audible alerts only when a genuine hazard exists, operating without distracting crew. The system automatically adapts to open water, congested traffic, harbour manoeuvres and anchoring without manual mode changes.
The development builds on WATCHIT, first introduced four years ago, which cross-referenced digital charts with position and course data. AIS integration followed, extending awareness to equipped maritime traffic. The radar addition completes a three-tier safety architecture.

The Simrad integration, he added, extends the system's collision- and grounding-prevention capability to Ferretti Group owners already running compatible multifunction displays and HALO radar.
