Gold Coast-based DockPro has taken out the BIA Sustainability in the Boating Industry Award, the winner announced during the official opening of the Sydney Boat Show at Sydney Olympic Park.
BIA CEO Andrew Fielding praised DockPro as a worthy recipient, noting that the family-owned company has long championed innovative marine solutions aimed at protecting boat hulls from marine growth.

Our team back home will be thrilled,” Sandra Barber, DockPro Director, said. “As lifelong boaties, our love for the water inspired this business from the beginning. We’re passionate about making boating easier, cleaner and more sustainable — and committed to protecting our oceans so they can be enjoyed for generations to come.”
Central to DockPro's range is the SeaPen, launched in 2004 and now counted in thousands of installations worldwide. The system keeps boats free of marine growth without any need for antifoul coatings or the cost and hassle of hauling out.
DockPro estimates that SeaPen installations have already prevented around 300,000 litres of antifoul from being applied. Each unit is built on the Gold Coast from recyclable, marine-safe HDPE, a completely inert material with a 50-year lifespan.
DockPro has also committed considerable resources to lean manufacturing and automation, with the recent introduction of a Pathfinder CNC machine boosting efficiency, cutting energy use, and minimising waste.
Barber said these developments reflect the business's broader goal of weaving sustainability together with innovation. "We want to keep finding smarter ways to build and support products that let boaties spend more time on the water, without leaving a footprint behind."
