The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, Defender of the America's Cup and represented by Emirates Team New Zealand, along with Royal Yacht Squadron Ltd, the Challenger of Record represented by GB1, have welcomed a query from the New York Yacht Club.
The two say the NYYC was consulted throughout the development of the America's Cup Protocol and was supportive of its formation, with respecting the Deed of Gift central to that process throughout.
The Protocol for the 38th America's Cup, to be held in Naples in 2027, was established by mutual consent between the Defender and the Challenger of Record, under the terms set out in the Deed of Gift.
