Britain's America's Cup Challenger GB1 has suffered damage to its AC40 race boat after a collision with the Tudor Team Alinghi chase boat during training on the Gulf of Naples.
The incident occurred on the racecourse as GB1 prepared for its first practice race start of the regatta, lining up alongside nine other AC40s.
Everyone aboard GB1's AC40 and the Tudor Team Alinghi chase boat was accounted for and safe, though GB1 starboard helm Dylan Fletcher sustained a minor facial injury.
GB1's AC40 returned to shore following the collision. The team is now assessing the extent of the damage.
