Burnsco Half Moon Bay grand reopening set for 13 September with brands, food and free skin checks

1 min read

Burnsco's Half Moon Bay store has undergone a significant transformation, reopening after a major expansion that has left it almost twice its former size. The revamped space is noticeably brighter and more open, with a brand-new RV department joining a considerably broader fishing range.

To celebrate, Burnsco is throwing a Grand Reopening event at the store on Saturday 13 September 2025, with doors open from 8.30am to 5pm.

The day promises plenty beyond a browse around the new layout. Shoppers keen on fishing gear will have the chance to talk directly with representatives from major brands including Daiwa, Shimano, Penn and more. There will also be exclusive in-store specials aimed at getting boats, baches, and RVs stocked ahead of the coming season.

Food is taken care of by the Captain Kai Moana food truck, on-site between 11am and 2pm and serving their popular whitebait fritters. The first 40 customers to make a purchase on the day will receive a voucher for a complimentary fritter. Those spending $100 or more can try their luck at the Spin to Win prize wheel for a chance at Burnsco giveaways.

The Melanoma Spot Check Van will be parked up and offering free melanoma spot checks between 10.30am and 1.30pm. Burnsco is encouraging families to come along and make a day of it.

Burnsco has also confirmed updated summer trading hours across all stores, effective from today. Monday to Friday the stores will be open from 8.30am until 5.30pm, while Saturday and Sunday hours run from 8.30am to 5.00pm.
