Axopar's 38 Cross Cabin is set to make its world debut at boot Düsseldorf 2026, marking the next stage in the Finnish builder's development of genuinely multi-purpose motor yachts. The Sun Top, Cross Top, and CCX variants will follow later.
The philosophy behind the 38 is one the brand has held from the start. Co-founder Jan Erik Viitala described these boats from the outset as adventure boats, with the intention that a single hull could serve equally well as a fishing platform, a cruiser, a day boat, or an offshore vessel without being defined by any one role. That thinking shapes every decision in the new model.
Measuring 11.84 metres in length and 3.56 metres across the beam, the 38 is a roomier boat than its predecessors, particularly in the cabin and cockpit areas, yet it preserves the low-slung profile and responsive handling that earlier Axopar models are known for. Construction is GRP throughout, and the hull carries Axopar's twin-stepped, 22-degree V form. Twin outboards provide propulsion, with buyers choosing between 2x300 hp or 2x350 hp configurations, giving a maximum combined output of 700 horsepower. Top speed is expected to exceed 45 knots. An 830-litre fuel tank means the 38 is oriented toward genuine passage-making rather than short hops between marinas.
The boat carries CE B offshore and C coastal classifications. At the time of writing, certification for up to 14 persons on board remains pending.

Below decks, the forward cabin has been rethought with practical use of the available volume in mind. A seating area combines with a berth configuration, and increased headroom allows more comfortable movement through the space. Owners can specify an enclosed toilet compartment, a shower, or a compact galley fitted with a fridge, microwave, and coffee machine. Berth arrangements follow a two-plus-two format, with one additional occasional berth also available.
The wheelhouse is deliberately uncluttered. A U-shaped dinette with a central table accommodates up to six people, though alternative layouts are offered, including rotating helm seats or a three-person Mediterranean sofa. An optional hi-lo table can be lowered to create an additional sleeping surface when needed.
An opening window set into the aft bulkhead connects the wheelhouse and the cockpit, improving ventilation throughout. A bar cabinet is available as a port-side option. Up forward, the bow section can be fitted with a full U-shaped lounge and table that converts into a sunbed, or alternatively configured with forward-facing seats and a sunpad incorporating storage beneath.
The aft deck is built around a modular approach, with interchangeable components allowing owners to combine seating, wet bar arrangements, leaning posts, and folding swim or watersports platforms in whatever combination suits them.
The options list also includes additional sound insulation, a gyroscopic stabiliser, expanded storage, and Burnewiin mounts for quick-fit accessories, with the overall package reflecting Axopar's consistent emphasis on adaptability over single-purpose design.
