Taking a tour of the Bavaria E40 starts at the bow, where a wide open forward deck sets the tone for the rest of the boat. That space is adaptable from the outset: fit it with day beds for soaking up the sun, or keep it clear if fishing is the priority.
Working aft, the walkthrough leads down to the swim platform, which offers ample room for water access and handling gear alongside the boat. Just above sits the cockpit, sheltered beneath a hardtop that makes it a genuinely useful space regardless of the conditions. Wraparound seating circles a central table, giving family and guests a comfortable place to gather outdoors. When the weather closes in, a removable canvas panel at the cockpit's aft end can be fitted to enclose the space.
The helm position is equipped with Garmin electronics, keeping the skipper well informed with clear navigation data while underway.
Step through into the saloon and the interior opens up into a bright, practical living area. Seating lines the cabin, with the galley positioned close at hand, fitted with gas cooking and the essentials needed for comfortable time on the water. An interior helm station is integrated into the saloon as well, allowing the Bavaria E40 to be skippered from inside when conditions outside become unpleasant or the sun simply gets too intense.
Forward of the saloon, the master cabin is built around a queen-size berth. The saloon table can be lowered to form additional sleeping space as required. A second cabin provides another queen-size bed, giving the boat genuine capacity for overnight guests or extended family cruising. Rounding out the accommodation, the layout incorporates a dedicated shower and head along with a separate toilet compartment that doubles as the day head.
The Bavaria E40 packs a lot into its layout, balancing generous outdoor living spaces with practical cruising accommodation below. It is on display at the Busfield Marine booth at the Auckland Boat Show.
