Aquila Power Catamarans has built a reputation as one of the world's foremost names in performance power catamarans, and the brand is preparing to underline that status at the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival. Held from September 9 to 14, the festival will host four Aquila premieres, spanning global and European firsts that reflect the company's drive to push boundaries in comfort, capability, and propulsion technology.
Few events carry the weight of the Cannes Yachting Festival in the marine industry. With yachting enthusiasts, trade professionals, and international media converging each September, it provides the natural stage for Aquila's most ambitious show programme to date. This year the spotlight falls on the world premiere of the Aquila 46 Yacht, the European premiere of the Aquila 50 Yacht, and the European introduction of both the Aquila 42 Coupe and the Aquila 46 Coupe fitted with inboard engine packages, a propulsion option making its worldwide debut in this configuration.
The Aquila 46 Yacht is a brand-new model designed to reconcile serious offshore range with onboard living that makes extended passages genuinely pleasurable. Measuring 14.5m LOA, the hull's beam is optimised for stability and usable space throughout. A full-beam master suite occupies the main deck, complemented by two further en-suite guest cabins, while the salon opens to the aft cockpit for relaxed socialising. Above, a flybridge provides panoramic views alongside shaded dining. Efficient inboard engines give the Aquila 46 Yacht the range to cover offshore voyages to 200nm, and it is rated to Beaufort Force 8 conditions, winds of 34 to 40 knots and wave heights up to 4m, carrying up to 12 people offshore.
Europe's first look at the Aquila 42 Coupe reveals a model that packs considerable space into a 13.06m hull with a 4.85m beam. A single-level layout runs uninterrupted from cockpit through to salon, and two private cabins, each with its own en-suite bathroom and separate shower, suit the boat equally well to couples' getaways or family cruising. Wide side decks, a sheltered bow lounge, and a cockpit bar window add to the boat's social credentials. Propulsion choices encompass twin Mercury outboards or, for the first time in Europe, Volvo Penta DPI inboards. Either way, the Aquila 42 Coupe benefits from Aquila's carbon fibre Hydro Glide® Foil System, which contributes to smoother, faster, and more fuel-efficient passages. Certification covers offshore use with 12 people aboard, inshore waters with 20, and sheltered waters with 29.
Sharing the European debut billing is the Aquila 46 Coupe, which builds on the coupe concept with larger dimensions, a 14.44m LOA and a 5.46m beam, to deliver greater interior volume, extended range, and a more expansive sense of space at sea. The main deck flows from a well-appointed salon into a shaded aft cockpit, with wide side decks connecting to a generous foredeck lounge. Two master-calibre cabins, each with en-suite facilities, sit alongside a galley fitted out for longer voyages, making the Aquila 46 Coupe a credible liveaboard proposition. Owners can choose between high-performance outboards and Volvo Penta DPI inboards, providing genuine flexibility over how the boat is configured.
Completing Aquila's Cannes line-up is the Aquila 50 Yacht, appearing in Europe for the first time. At 15.9m it is the largest of the four models on show and carries an unmistakable "Explorer" character, defined by bold styling, high freeboard, and a Category A ocean-going classification. The standard arrangement provides three cabins and three heads, anchored by a full-beam master suite on the main deck, with panoramic salon windows and an expansive flybridge adding to the sense of occasion. For those seeking additional berths, an optional fourth cabin and crew quarters extend the Aquila 50 Yacht's appeal to private ownership and charter operations alike. Rated for ocean crossings beyond 200nm in conditions exceeding Beaufort Force 8 and waves over 4m, twin Volvo Penta D6 380HP engines deliver a cruising speed of 18 to 19 knots and a top speed of 22 knots, making long bluewater passages both comfortable and swift.
