One of the most anticipated new boats heading to the Cannes Yachting Festival is also an extreme demonstration of how far lightweight construction can scale.
When the Anvera 200 Racing arrives at the Cannes Yachting Festival this September, there will be no shortage of new boats competing for attention.
But the Italian builder's new flagship is shaping up as one of the show's most anticipated arrivals.
Making its world premiere at Cannes, the Anvera 200 Racing takes the yard's carbon focused engineering philosophy to almost 20 metres. Twin 2,200hp MAN V12 engines and Top System surface propellers give it a claimed top speed beyond 70 knots.
The performance figure is the headline result of a manufacturing philosophy that treats weight reduction as a fundamental engineering problem rather than simply relying on more horsepower.
Anvera vacuum laminates and heat treats its carbon fibre structures, keeping the process in house alongside painting and finishing. Chief executive Marco Rossetti describes the company's approach to customisation as “dressing the boat to measure”, extending beyond colours into layouts, exterior configurations and equipment.
Anvera says its approach delivers measurable efficiency gains. The smaller Anvera 48 reaches approximately 50 knots while consuming a claimed 2.7 litres per nautical mile at a 35 knot cruise, a figure the builder attributes to its lightweight construction.
Racing also serves as a test laboratory.
Anvera E Lab develops technologies through competition before applying the knowledge gained to other projects. The division built an electric carbon planing prototype with its motor, batteries, transmission, controls and propeller developed to operate as an integrated system.
Electric propulsion remains experimental. Anvera's core business is conventional high performance craft, with chase boats accounting for more than 50 percent of sales by late 2025.
Across its model range, Anvera treats the hull as a configurable platform rather than a fixed layout. The same basic structure can serve as a day cruiser, weekender, adventure boat, chase boat or mini support vessel.
The Anvera 200 shows how that philosophy scales.
At 19.97 metres long and 5.96 metres across, it is already a substantial machine. Open the side terraces and the beam expands to 6.85 metres, while the aft area grows beyond 30 square metres.
Anvera was established in 2014 within parent company LG S.r.l., founded in 2002 with expertise in advanced composite materials. Its technical heritage draws on more than 40 years of experience in the nautical sector and offshore competition. Carbon waste from production is also recovered and reused by the company.
Cannes will provide the first public look at where all that development has led.
The Anvera 200 Racing will make its world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival from 8 to 13 September, alongside another Anvera world premiere, the new 48 XD. The Anvera 58 completes the three boat display.
Among hundreds of boats heading for the Côte d'Azur, plenty will be larger and some will be more luxurious.
Few are likely to arrive doing more than 70 knots.
