Horizon Yachts chose Boot Düsseldorf to quietly introduce the third generation of one of its most enduring platforms, the V74, marking nearly two decades of continuous development for a line that has become a hallmark of the Taiwanese builder.
The new V74 EVO represents the Mk3 evolution of a lineage stretching back to 2007, when the original V74 Skylounge first appeared. That model remained in production until 2013, establishing the enclosed flybridge format that would go on to define much of Horizon's larger range. A second generation followed, running from 2023 through to 2025, and from 2026 the V74 EVO carries the concept forward with reworked proportions, sharper contemporary lines, and a more confident, modern profile.
The hull is derived from the proven V68 platform, with the V74 EVO measuring 22.65 metres overall, keeping it comfortably under the 24 metre threshold while delivering a noticeable gain in volume and onboard usability. The semi-displacement GRP construction is matched with Horizon's focus on practical systems and straightforward operation, ensuring the yacht remains approachable without sacrificing capability.
Below decks, three ensuite guest cabins accommodate up to six people, with separate crew quarters for two. Interiors are fully bespoke, giving owners broad latitude to specify materials, finishes, and detailing. Horizon has confirmed the introduction of a new sustainable decking solution alongside upgraded onboard amenities, both reflecting changing expectations around material choices and long-term durability. Twin MAN V8 1200 engines provide the power, promising refined performance and assured handling.
Construction is already underway at the Horizon Yachts shipyard, with delivery targeted for the second quarter of 2026. Visitors at Boot Düsseldorf were also briefed on V74 EVO Hull 15, a further refined build aligned with market feedback, due to debut later this year at the Mediterranean In Water Yacht Show.
Three clearly defined generations now place the V74 among the more consistently developed platforms in its class. The V74 EVO reflects Horizon's preference for refining what works rather than starting over, an approach that has kept the line relevant for the better part of twenty years.
