Thirty-seven athletes have been invited to trial for New Zealand's rowing team at the 2026 World Rowing Championships, with the confirmation event set for Lake Karāpiro from 25 to 28 June 2026.
The trial will decide which athletes represent New Zealand in Amsterdam, Netherlands, where the World Rowing Championships run from 24 to 30 August. Athletes must confirm their acceptance via email to Lisa Holton no later than Friday 19 June.
Sixteen women have received invitations. Waikato Rowing Club dominates the list, with Alana Sherman, Ella Cossill, Eva Hofmans, Isla Blake, Kate Haines, Katherine Lush, and Sophie Egnot-Johnson all included. Alice Fahey (Star Boating Club), Kathryn Glen (Avon Rowing Club), and Shakira Mirfin (Invercargill Rowing Club) are named subject to medical clearance.
The remaining women's invitees are Hannah Matehaere and Juliette Lequeux from Otago University Rowing Club, Olivia Hay from North Shore Rowing Club, Rebecca Leigh from Cambridge Rowing Club, Stella Clayton-Greene from Hauraki Plains Rowing Club, and Veronica Wall from Ashburton Rowing Club.
Fourteen men have been invited, with Waikato again heavily represented. Ben Olifiers, Callum Tutbury, Campbell Crouch, Finn Hamill, Joshua Vodanovich, and Oscar Ruston all come from the club. Avon Rowing Club contributes Ben Mason, Ben Taylor, and Oliver Welch, while North Shore sends Matt Macdonald and Ollie Maclean.
Arie Rasmussen (Magasiva Star Boating Club), Fred Vavasour (Wairau Rowing Club), and Harry Fitzpatrick (West End Rowing Club) round out the men's field.
Three coxswains complete the invited group: Annabelle Scott and Oliver Duncan from Waikato Rowing Club, and Harry Malloy from North Shore Rowing Club.
